Description
Dracula’s Daughter Reimagined in Experimental Cinema
Nadja is Dracula’s daughter. After her father’s death, she wanders the nighttime streets of ’90s New York, seeking out her next victim. Who will fall into her embrace tonight? Who will quench her thirst? And who will save her from loneliness and grief?
This experimental horror film is a unique hybrid that fuses two sources of inspiration:
— The film Dracula’s Daughter (1936)
— André Breton’s surrealist novel Nadja (1928), which gave the film not only its title but also its dreamlike, fragmented, avant-garde aesthetic, where reality blurs into hallucination.
David Lynch served as the film’s executive producer, and his influence is clearly felt in the film’s noir, surreal atmosphere. He also appears in a small role.
