Description

The Similars is a Mexican sci-fi thriller and a love letter to the original The Twilight Zone series and Alfred Hitchcock’s classic suspense.

Set on a rain-soaked night of October 2, 1968, a torrential downpour traps eight strangers at a remote bus station, all waiting for transport to Mexico City. The story unfolds against the backdrop of real historical turmoil in Mexico—the student protests and the Tlatelolco massacre—adding a sharp political undercurrent to the narrative.

Shot in muted, almost monochromatic tones, the film perfectly channels the atmosphere of 1960s retro-horror. Confined to four walls, the tension is built entirely on psychological pressure and the creeping absurdity of the situation.
