Description

The Ice Tower — A dark and atmospheric reimagining of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen.

Set in 1970s France, a 15-year-old orphan runs away from a foster home and finds refuge on a film set where The Snow Queen is being shot. She falls under the spell of the lead actress, Christine (played by Marion Cotillard). Soon, the line between reality and Andersen’s fairy tale world begins to blur.

If you enjoy films like Black Swan or Mulholland Drive, where fear builds through imagery and ambiguity, this film is for you. It’s arthouse horror at its finest — a slow burn that rewards patient viewers with a haunting, surreal experience.

At the 75th Berlin International Film Festival, the film won the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Achievement.
