In 2022, as a 17-year-old, Kane Parsons uploaded a series of short Backrooms videos to his YouTube channel, Kane Pixels. One of them surpassed 80 million views.

That kind of success couldn’t go unnoticed by major studios. Under the A24 label, filmmakers offered Parsons the chance to adapt his short videos into a feature film.

By the time the full-length movie releases, the director will be just 20 years old. He also serves as one of the film’s two composers.
