I can’t say I’m shocked by its low score, but ratings like this are usually reserved for amateur projects or straight-up trash—neither of which applies here. On IMDb, it sits at a 4.4 from a little over 700 votes. Even setting aside my personal fondness for it and judging objectively, that number is heavily skewed.

I watched Aurora shortly after its release and genuinely liked it. Then, as often happens, I forgot about it. But some time later, it resurfaced in my memory, and I felt a strong pull to rewatch it—which is a rare occurrence for me. The catch? I couldn’t recall the title or even the country of origin. All I remembered was that it felt Asian, judging by the cast’s features. It took me a while to finally track it down. I haven’t gotten around to the rewatch yet, but it’s waiting for me.
