Homunculus
Description
Homunculus — Beautiful and strange cinema. One of those Japanese films (or anime) that surprise you with their plot and stay in your memory for a long time. You might forget the details, but you’ll remember the existence of this film for a very long time. That’s how it works for me.
No, these films don’t become my favorites — I just remember them. And there’s a desire to rewatch them someday and discover them anew.
The film is not a festival hit, nor is it pure arthouse, but I consider it unusual enough to place on the art-fantasy shelf.
Based on the manga by Hideo Yamamoto, creator of the cult classic Ichi the Killer.
